The Varma Bumms - The Late Yonsay

The Varma Bumms - Day +5

The Late Yonsay.

Ok, ok, I know I’m always late, but well it’s a habit I’ve been working on, what with being obsessively hung up on being on time in RL, in SL I’m going to be late, or at least not worry about it all the time. Also, If you are getting confused about the chronology of this series of articles I will seek to explain. I did a little scouting before I committed to the series, and then I did the out there bit. The actual looking, and do you know what, nobody was ever in… I’m not saying that there is nothing out there, quite the contrary, there’s loads, it’s just that you have to make appointments etc and well days can pass, so I’ve hung around a few places, admired the scenery, and wouldn’t you know it, the day I get an invite, day 5 of my self imposed exile, I have a prior engagement (nothing exciting, a lesson in using the paper interface). Life! Or should I say Second Life, no that’s too much, how about slife, that’s better. Yes, I like that, slife, said with a certain pathos. So anyway, here’s a double apology. Sorry for the gaps between articles, and sorry for being late Zena! Who is Zena, I can almost hear you mutter, don’t worry, I’m going to tell all.

Zena Zemlja was giving a talk on over at Spirit City, at the illustrious Mystic Academy on positive thinking. Now I know I am biased, I am a Buddhist, but I thought a bit of positive thinking wasn’t exactly going over to the dark side. So late, and with my tail between my legs, I slinked over. And boy was I late. The conversation was a hundred miles an hour, and all of it interesting, I struggled to catch up, but was still fascinated. People were openly talking about their needs, wants and desires, and none of them were overtly self centred. Their hopes seemed reasonable and quite modest, a good job, a nice house, the things we all hope for, and something that you almost wanted to help them with. But I was after all late and the conversation halted and moved towards the practical part of Zena’s talk. We were instructed to consider, according to a set of rules, a wish or request, directed at the universe, and write it down. As if the mere act of making the request, it was argued, could in some way affect it’s outcome. Now normally that might have raised an eyebrow with me, but in the atmosphere and context of the moment it seemed quite reasonable.

What followed next was a led voice mediation, and I donned my fully enclosed headphones and relaxed on the sofa at home and listened to Zena's soothing tones while I was whisked away to a dimension of hope. What else can I say, something was shared with me, and you must give it a try. I’m a bit of a loiterer at over at the Mystic academy now, as it seems to be a sort of spiritual heart that sl needs… I’m getting poetic again. Give it a try, or don’t. Be there of be a polyhedron!

PS Readers. Please ignore the chronology, it is just a guide. The waiting days far outnumbered the doing days. Suffice to say it has been twelve days, and I’m catching up with my writing. There’s a couple of more articles to come yet.

See Ya'

Yonsay
